Our popular Pony Days run regularly throughout the school half-term holidays and are the perfect way for pony-mad children to spend a day at Smugglers Equestrian Centre.
With plenty of riding, hands-on pony care, learning and lots of fun, our Pony Days give children a brilliant insight into what goes into looking after and owning a pony.
Owning a pony isn't just about the riding!
Our Pony Days give children the chance to experience more of life behind the scenes at the stables and learn about the care that our horses and ponies need every day. Activities vary from day to day, but may include:
And, of course, there are plenty of opportunities to get in the saddle throughout the day.

Places are limited and our holiday Pony Days can be very popular, so early booking is recommended.
Sometimes our Pony Days come with a twist!
Throughout the year we may run special themed activity days alongside our regular Pony Days. Depending on the season, you might spot everything from spooky Halloween fun to festive activities, challenges, games and other special events.
Each themed day is a little different, so always check the individual event information to see what's planned.
Pony Days are a great opportunity for children to develop much more than their riding. Spending a day at the yard can help children build confidence, independence, responsibility and practical horse-care skills, while meeting other children who share their love of horses. They're also a brilliant way for regular riders to learn more about the ponies they ride each week and discover just how much work goes into keeping them happy and healthy.
Children should come dressed for a full day around horses and be prepared for the weather.
Please bring:
Long trousers and covered shoulders are required.
Please do not send children in shorts, skirts, sandals, Crocs or other unsuitable footwear. And remember — this is a day at the stables, so there's a very good chance they'll come home a little bit muddy! 🐴
